About This Position:
The Louisiana Office of Tourism is charged with the responsibility to market and promote Louisiana as a premiere travel destination, increasing revenue generated by visitor spending, and contributing to the economic impact of tourism in all 64 parishes.
The Louisiana Office of Tourism is a multi-pronged agency charged with leading Louisiana's large and diverse tourism industry. The Office of Tourism partners with tourism professionals and industry stakeholders in private and public sectors to extend and enhance their efforts to reach domestic and international travel trade and consumers. The Louisiana Office of Tourism promotes economic growth of Louisiana through the implementation of a variety of specialized programs design the encourage visitation to the state and increase visitor spending.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Six years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating administrative programs, operational programs, or special projects or initiatives within a public or private sector organization; OR
Six years of full-time experience in any field plus three years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating administrative programs, operational programs, or special projects or initiatives within a public or private sector organization; OR
A bachelor’s degree plus three years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating administrative programs, operational programs, or special projects or initiatives within a public or private sector organization; OR
An advanced degree, or a Juris Doctorate, plus two years of experience in developing, managing, or evaluating administrative programs, operational programs, or special projects or initiatives within a public or private sector organization.
Experience Substitution:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

To serve as a special assistant and advisor to executive management. Incumbents will manage the detailed and complex analysis of issues affecting the agency in state legislation and assist with the implementation of policies and procedures necessary to achieve the goals and mission of the agency.

Directs or performs the identification and evaluation of state policies in broad and specific categories utilizing state law, federal law, legislative acts, court orders, executive orders, budgets, policy statements, citizen advisory group recommendations, and special commission reports.
