CES is looking for reliable, detail-oriented individuals to assist Underage Purchasers in performing non- confrontational compliance checks on local tobacco retailers to ensure the sale of tobacco products to Underage Purchasers is restricted. The inspection is used to establish a retailer’s compliance with federal regulations. This work is conducted on a part-time, case-volume basis with flexibility relevant to the individual’s schedule. Duties/Responsibilities:
- Travel with an Underage Purchaser; identify and verify site address provided
- Facilitate and observe undercover buys in coordination with trained Underage Purchasers
- Collect evidence of violations, such as photographs and tobacco products
- Complete compliance check inspection forms, detailing any violations, when applicable
- Review retailers for compliance of advertising & labeling signage
Required qualifications/skills:
- Inspectors must be current law enforcement officers or employees of the state, county or local city/town, supporting Section 702(a)(1)(A) of the Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (“any health, food, or drug officer”)
- Reliable transportation
- Attention to detail
- Strict adherence to deadlines and privacy
- Must be able to undergo a security clearance background check and become credentialed by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
