Job Description
M C Bank is seeking an experienced and strategic leader to join our executive team as Chief Operating Officer (COO). Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will play a critical role in shaping and executing the strategic vision for our organization. This position provides senior-level leadership and oversight of the Bank’s operational and retail departments, ensuring excellence across multiple functions, including Retail Lending, Retail Services, Operations, Compliance, and other duties directed by the CEO or Board. As COO, you will drive operational efficiency, foster business growth, and ensure regulatory compliance while upholding the Bank’s commitment to exceptional customer service and community engagement.
Expectations - Executive Leadership & Strategy
- Lead the development and execution of strategic objectives, policies, and plans for consumer banking and lending operations.
- Oversee short- and long-term planning, ensuring alignment with the Bank’s growth and development goals.
- Provide guidance and support to senior officers in achieving operational excellence and compliance with policies and procedures.
- Operational Excellence
- Ensure seamless integration of processes across consumer banking and lending departments.
- Continuously monitor and enhance operational efficiency while adhering to internal policies and industry best practices.
- Develop subject matter expertise in operational systems, regulatory requirements, and banking processes.
- Business Development & Customer Focus
- Represent the Bank in community, civic, and professional organizations to strengthen relationships and expand market influence.
- Actively engage with customers and stakeholders to drive business development and customer satisfaction.
- Financial Oversight
- Partner with the CEO and CFO to manage budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance for banking operations.
- Establish and monitor financial goals to achieve revenue targets and control costs effectively.
- Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with the Executive Management Committee and Board of Directors to report on banking operations and lending performance.
- Build and maintain relationships with peer banks, trade associations, and regulatory authorities to stay ahead of industry developments.
- Participate in management committees to ensure governance and alignment with enterprise objectives.
Qualifications And Education Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or Risk Management related field is required; Master’s Degree in Business, Finance, related field preferred.
- Prior Experience: a minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in financial services, including (5) years or more in a senior leadership level role, direct experience engaging with the Boards of Directors and bank regulators.

- In-depth knowledge of banking laws, regulations, and risk management.
- Experience developing and administering risk and/or compliance programs.
- Exceptional analytical skills and a demonstrated ability to comprehend and communicate risks, and mitigate them within a company’s risk appetite statement.
- Strong initiative and decision-making abilities, with the ability to advance the strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the company in collaboration with senior and executive management and the Board of Directors.
