What You’ll Do:
As the Manufacturing Engineer Manager, you’ll play a critical role in overseeing continuous improvement activities using Lean principles to enhance Safety, Quality, Productivity, and Cost Efficiency across our operations ensuring that we continue to deliver exceptional wood products to our customers. You’ll lead a dedicated production team, foster a safety-first culture, and work closely with senior management to meet key performance goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and implement Lean manufacturing initiatives to improve safety, quality, productivity, and reduce costs.
- Analyze current manufacturing processes and identify opportunities for improvement using Lean principles.
- Develop, coordinate, and execute projects focused on continuous improvement, including waste reduction, process optimization, and efficiency enhancement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive initiatives that improve overall operational performance.
- Provide training and mentorship to employees to build Lean competencies and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Monitor and measure the impact of improvement projects and adjust strategies as needed.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations in all process improvement initiatives.
- Utilize data analysis tools to identify trends and develop solutions to enhance manufacturing operations.
- Support new product introductions and modifications to existing products by improving manufacturing processes and systems.
- Develop standard work procedures, job instructions (JIBs) and best practices documentation for manufacturing processes.
- Conduct/Oversee time studies and impact on line balancing and WIP allocation.
- Design/improve work stations to improve ergonomics, safety and promote one piece flow.
What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong emphasis on Lean manufacturing principles.
- Demonstrated ability to lead projects and drive change in a manufacturing setting.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on team collaboration and people development.
- Proficiency in Lean tools (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen, TPM, Six Sigma).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
