General Summary of Duties: We are looking to add a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner to our growing team of medical professionals. Your Primary responsibility will be to provide advance care to patients in our facility. Duties will include but are not limited to performing physical exams, recording patient medical histories, creating patient care plans, and administering diagnostic tests. You will also be administering medicines and treatments, as well as observing the patient's response to such treatments.
A master's degree in nursing and the required state license are necessary for you to be considered as a candidate. Previous experience in providing pediatric care and proficiency with the medical instruments and equipment required for the work are important keys to becoming successful in this role.
Typical Working Conditions: Full-time. Multiple site urban, inner-city medical office practice. Requires prolonged standing, sitting, bending, stooping, and lifting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Functions independently to perform age-appropriate history and physical for complex acute, critical, and chronically ill patients.
- Orders and interprets diagnostic tests relative to patient's age-specific needs.
- Implements interventions to support the patient to regain or maintain physiologic stability, including but not limited to serving in the first assisting role.
- Monitors the effectiveness of interventions.
- Facilitates the patient's transition within and between health care settings, e.g. admitting, transferring, and discharging patients.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals.
- Facilitates staff, patient and family decision making by providing educational tools.

Education/Experience:
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner Program
- Minimum 2 years' experience
- Current Nurse Practitioner certification in Pediatrics
- Current provider card in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support
- (ACLS); PALS provider card as required by department and facility
- Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Eligible for hospital privileges
License:
- Current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) Licensure
Physical Demands:
- Comfortable working with homeless and/or low-income clients.
