Job Summary/Purpose
All members of Entergy’s safety function will be expected to own safety, work to prevent incidents and seek to improve with the understanding that zero harm is possible. The program coordinator will be responsible for leading and reporting on aspects of programs across the company. There are two major focus areas that a program coordinator can be assigned, field presence and/or data and analytics.
Program coordinators that have a field focus will spend time with planning and observing work being performed across the system. Observations and coaching will be an important part of the field focused program coordinator position. These roles will be expected to aggregate their engagement and observation information into recommendations to leadership for action as appropriate.
Program coordinators that have a data and analytics focus will manage the interpretation and dissemination of the data across the system. These roles will be responsible for aggregating data from multiple systems and providing recommendations to leadership for actions to take when deficiencies are noted.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Coordinate the implementation, maintenance, and validation of assigned safety and occupational health management system components.
Field: coordinate project and work schedules to ensure opportunities to engage with higher risk work evolutions are filled.
Field: performing engagements and observations with field personnel to capture opportunities for improvement.
Data/Analytics: receiving, interpreting, and presenting data to leadership and stakeholders with recommendations for actions.
Data/Analytics: coordinating efforts to improve safety performance across multiple regions or business functions.
Coordinate actions across the business unit and/or across the company through peer groups to drive improvement for Entergy.
Lead and/or participate in internal and external special project teams with the purpose of continuous improvement.
Support and encourage the growth and development of safety professionals across the organization through coaching and mentorship.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum Education
Minimum Experience:
- 5+ years industry with minimum 3 years in safety
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities
Thorough understanding of applicable OSHA regulations and industry guidelines.
Experience working within safety and occupational health management systems (i.e. ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001, ANSI/ASSP Z10).
Ability to observe and engage with employees and contract partners.
Investigation/RCA with tools such as TapRoot, Cause Mapping, Fishbone, Five whys, etc.
Skilled in analyzing and interpreting data to identify trends utilizing tools such as Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerBI, SAS, etc.
Ability to interact with customers and members of the public in a pleasant and tactful manner.
Ability to manage multiple activities and changing priorities.
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work irregular hours and out of town assignments as required.
Any Certificates, Licenses, etc.:
- Required: ASP/CSP/SMS/CUSP/CIH/OSHA500 or equivalent
