Position Overview
Manage recruitment territories by establishing and cultivating on-going relationships with community colleges, military branches and local and national agencies for partnership and collaboration. In its efforts to enroll an entering class of students of the targeted size, diversity and quality. Processing admissions applications, transcripts and other credentials needed to manage all processing components. Establish recruitment initiatives around professional advancement as it relates to all Dillard University program offerings.
The Professional Advancement representative will manage the following areas, will include but are not limited to online programs, evening and weekend studies, military outreach and certification and graduate programs. Program and recruitment initiatives for students seeking workforce advancement, knowledge enrichment, active duty or dependents/spouses of military veterans and professional studies.
Summary: Manage recruitment territories by establishing and cultivating on-going relationships with high school principals, counselors, students, parents, alumni chapters and community colleges.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Serve as a member of the recruitment and enrollment team, managing recruitment territories to assist in
achieving enrollment goals for the university;
- Implement recruitment strategies as outlined in the Enrollment Plan and the Enrollment
Management Operations Manual in the assigned territory to include high school and/or community college visits.
- Provide admission presentations to campus visitors during campus daily tours and during on campus or off campus events.
- Advise students and families of admission requirements, transfer guidelines, financial aid and scholarship information, and student life to include the residential life experience;
- Provide follow-up to students and parents via social media, telephone, letters, e-mail, and scheduled appointments in a specific recruitment territory;
- Complete routine reports related to recruitment, enrollment projections, travel, special programs, and professional development.
- Evaluate program effectiveness, assess outcomes, and develop improved programming to achieve desired goals, and complete cost analyses for programs and events.
- Data enter prospective student inquiries into database.
- Adhere to Dillard University’s policies and procedures regarding travel and procurement
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President for Enrollment Management
Additional Responsibilities
- Provide assistance and support for Campus Tours and Special Events like SOAR, Open House, etc.
- Establish and maintain positive interoffice and intercampus relationships as well as develop those relationships with high school guidance counselors.
- Assists the Admissions staff with the design, implementation and evaluation of an annual recruitment plan and annual summary reports of recruitment activities; assist in developing methods and strategies by which to set
goals, milestones and timelines which will enable us to achieve enrollment goals.
- Work with the Admissions Staff to develop and foster a spirit of cooperation among staff to accomplish common goals.
- Maintain ongoing relationship with the Office of Alumni Relations to coordinate joint recruitment efforts
- Develop and sustain alumni relations with Dillard's visibility in assigned recruitment territories.
- Work with the Sr. Admissions Counselor, Director of Recruitment, Admissions and Programming and the Vice President for Enrollment Management to develop a system by which to assess and evaluate the effectiveness of
all regional recruitment programs.
- Assist with all on campus and off campus programs that impact the proposed yield of enrollment from student in your assigned territory. These activities include but are not limited to Open House, Orientation, Summer Send
Offs, etc.
- Assume other duties and responsibilities deemed necessary by the Sr. Admissions Counselor, Director of Recruitment, Admissions and Programming and the Vice President for Enrollment Management.
Supervisory Responsibility: This position has no supervisory responsibility.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree is required.
- Demonstrated skill in writing analytical reports and proposals.
- Demonstrated ability to make oral group presentations to explain admission requirements and opportunities and to motivate students to higher education.
- Demonstrated skill in speaking clearly and distinctly using appropriate vocabulary and grammar to obtain and convey information to individuals at various organizational levels.
- Demonstrated ability to work and communicate with diverse groups of people. Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other staff members, subordinates, school
administrators and officials and representatives.
- Initiative, imagination and organizational skills to assist in the development t of programs and promote the university to various publics (i.e., prospective students and parents, secondary school administrators and
teachers, etc.) so as to matriculate a sufficient number of qualified freshmen and transfer students each year.
- Willingness to acquire and understanding of the Dillard commitment to excellence in education, diversity of the student body, social service, and the liberal arts and sciences traditions. The goals and priorities of a
value-centered education must be reflected in any recruitment program and presentation.
- Initiative, imagination and organizational qualities to assist in the development of programs and promote the university to various publics (i.e. prospective students and parents, secondary school
administrators and teachers, etc.) so as to matriculate a sufficient number of qualified freshmen and transfer students each year.
Additional Desirable Qualifications: Experience in the use of computers in the admissions and processing areas including work processing, spreadsheet and database management.

- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to carry and transport 40 pounds of materials and/or equipment.
- Must be a licensed driver of an automobile with an acceptable driving record as determined by Dillard's Office of Risk Management.
- Must be able and willing to travel long distances by airplane and automobile.
