The COTA helps occupational therapy clients by providing rehabilitative services, under the direction of occupational therapists, to persons with mental, physical, emotional, or developmental impairments.
Qualifications:
Must hold an Associate degree in occupational therapy assistant from an AOTA accredited college or university.
Must hold a current COTA state license to practice occupational therapy and must maintain license renewal in accordance with the applicable state licensing board.
Must be CPR certified.
Must have sensory skills to differentiate clinical signs and symptoms and the emotional stamina to deal with a variety of stressful situations including emergency response to patient incident.
