Job Description:
SCOPE: Demonstrates critical thinking and implementation of the nursing process. Provides leadership in the conduct of clinical trials, improving outcomes for patients, and enhancing study integrity. Coordinates and participates in clinical research studies conducted by principal investigator(s) who have been credentialed as required and have research privileges at Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and those affiliated with our cancer program hospital partners.
FUNCTIONS:
1. Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the evolution of clinical research.
2. Coordinates and participates in clinical research studies conducted by principal investigators by screening and identifying patients for clinical trial eligibility.
3. Educates, Consents, and Enrolls patients to clinical research studies
4. Research Patient Management
5. Monitor/Audit Preparation & Participation Oversight
6. Research Drug/Study Materials Maintenance
7. Research Site Leadership
8. Research Protocol Compliance
9. Clinical Trials Communication
10. Other Duties and Professional Development
QUALIFICATIONS:
Active RN license in the state of LA required
BLS CPR required
3 years of nursing experience in a clinic preferred
Clinical Research experience highly preferred
Oncology/Infusion nursing experience highly preferred
