Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Six years of experience in analyzing intelligence or criminal investigative reports, gaming regulation, or conducting criminal investigations as a commissioned law enforcement officer; OR
Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in analyzing intelligence or criminal investigative reports, gaming regulation, or conducting criminal investigations as a commissioned law enforcement officer; OR
A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in analyzing intelligence or criminal investigative reports, gaming regulation, or conducting criminal investigations as a commissioned law enforcement officer; OR
A bachelor's degree plus graduation from a military intelligence school for commissioned officers, warrant officers, or senior (E-7, E-8, E-9) noncommissioned officers of the US Armed Forces.
Experience Substitution:
Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.
Necessary Special Requirements:
An applicant who has been convicted of a felony or who is under indictment on a felony charge will be disqualified until relief from the disabilities imposed by state and federal laws are granted.
All persons appointed to this job will be required by the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and Louisiana Police Terminal Operator Certification Program Guidelines to meet the terminal operator certification/re-certification requirements.
Investigative Support Special Requirement:
Must be able to obtain Federal Government security clearances for access to classified information.

Function Of Work:
To oversee and direct activities of Investigative Specialists who serve in a support role to local, state, and federal criminal investigations by providing accurate, concise, and complete analysis of diversified criminal intelligence data which involves evaluating and classifying data for retrieval purposes.
Level Of Work:
Supervisor.
Supervision Received:
General from Investigative Specialist Manager or other supervisory personnel.
Supervision Exercised:
Direct over Investigative Specialists.

Job Distinctions:
Differs from Investigative Specialist 3 by the presence of supervisory responsibility.
Differs from Investigative Specialist Manager by the absence of management responsibility over Investigative Specialist Supervisors and second-line supervision of Investigative Specialists.
Examples of Work
Supervises intelligence analyses and dissemination of criminal information through the intelligence cycle process.
Serves as liaison with other law enforcement and military intelligence agencies representatives.
Participates in schools, conferences, seminars, and meetings designed to impart greater knowledge of the gaming regulatory or criminal intelligence process.
Provides hiring input, sets goals and objectives, serves as training coordinator, supervises, and monitors efficiency and quality of finished products of Investigative Specialists.
Supervises time and attendance of subordinates, reviews performance for merit pay increases, and prepares annual personnel evaluations.
Gaming Enforcement Functions:
Serves as liaison to the Louisiana Gaming Control Board, Attorney General's Office, and Tribal Gaming Commissions and reviews all the denials, revocations, and suspensions for the regional offices.
Receives, analyzes, and makes a determination on gaming applicant's criminal history rap sheets per the Louisiana Revised Statutes and Louisiana Gaming Laws as to whether a recommendation of suspension or revocation needs to be completed on the permit.
Gaming Audit Or Corporate Security Functions:
Provides guidance, information, and other assistance to Division Agents, gaming licensees, and gaming vendors concerning internal controls and compliance issues or Corporate Security issues.
Must be knowledgeable of LA Gaming Law and Louisiana Administrative Code Title 42 and be able to work independently, provide guidance, information and other assistance to Investigative Specialists 1, 2, 3, and Division Agents concerning internal controls, compliance, tournaments, new games and equipment or SEC filings, credit reports, or other Corporate Security issues.
Reviews detailed formal reports on compliance issues/deficiencies or Corporate Security issues submitted by Investigative Specialists.
Reviews site inspection reports submitted by Investigative Specialists.
Investigative Support Functions:
Prepares oral and visual presentations, handouts and test questions for training as needed.
Assists with reviewing and evaluating intelligence reports and information.
Assists as needed with special intelligence analysis projects as assigned.
