Position Summary
The Railcrew member is responsible for spotting empty and full railcars and executing all necessary duties to defined standards to achieve the required production plan. This role involves managing the railyard to ensure a first-in, first-out (FIFO) system is followed, completing basic autonomous maintenance (AM) tasks, and collaborating with production and planning to determine railcar needs.
Primary Responsibility
- Spotting empty and full railcars according to the production plan.
- Operating a railcar mover and spotting for other team members
- Managing the railyard to ensure FIFO process is adhered to.
- Completing basic autonomous maintenance (AM) tasks to ensure operational efficiency.
- Collaborating with production and planning teams to determine and fulfill railcar requirements.
Qualifications Education and Work Experience
- Typically requires a secondary diploma or equivalent.
- Minimal, if any, prior experience required.
Independence Level and Reporting
- Works under immediate supervision.
- Variety of work is routine, not complex, and follows standard procedures.
- Typically reports to the Production Team Leader or other Production management role.
