Position Summary
The Packaging Assistant is a critical role within our production team, responsible for assisting with packaging or filling equipment and undertaking all necessary duties to meet defined standards. This role is designed to achieve the required production plan through a combination of routine tasks, changeovers, and basic autonomous maintenance (AM) tasks.
Primary Responsibilities

- Packaging and Filling Equipment Assistance: Operate and assist with packaging or filling equipment as directed. Ensure all equipment is functioning correctly and safely.
- Routine Changeovers: Complete routine changeovers efficiently to ensure minimal downtime during production. Follow standard procedures for changeover tasks.
- Basic Autonomous Maintenance (AM): Perform basic maintenance tasks on packaging and filling equipment. Identify and report any equipment issues promptly.
- Quality Control: Adhere to defined quality standards for all packaging and filling tasks. Perform regular checks to ensure products meet quality specifications.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment. Report any safety concerns to the Production Team Leader.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, including equipment usage, maintenance performed, and any issues encountered.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth and efficient production processes. Communicate effectively with supervisors and team leaders.
Qualifications
- Education: Typically requires a secondary diploma or equivalent.
- Work Experience: Minimal, if any, prior experience is required. On-the-job training will be provided to ensure proficiency in all tasks.
Independence Level
- Work under immediate supervision, following standard procedures and guidelines.
- The variety of work is routine and not complex, ensuring tasks are performed efficiently and accurately.
Reporting Structure
- Typically reports to the Production Team Leader or other Production management roles.
