Job Title: Construction Manager

Role Overview
The Construction Manager (CM) at STAT is crucial for managing field operations related to water and wastewater collection and treatment systems. This includes overseeing installations, upgrades, refurbishments, significant repairs, and property enhancements.
Key Responsibilities
- Policy Adherence & Client Satisfaction: Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory standards while maintaining high client satisfaction.
- Project Oversight: Manage the entire construction and major repair process, including coordination, cost management, scheduling, and successful project completion.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with upper management, regional managers, supervisors, service crews, subcontractors, and clients to ensure project alignment with company standards and client expectations.
Essential Functions
- Punctuality & Leadership: Encourage team members to arrive 15 minutes early to set a positive example and prepare for the day.
- Personnel Management: Involve in hiring, performance evaluations, and addressing reprimands with a focus on growth and development.
- Engagement: Lead department meetings, prepare agendas, and foster active participation.
- Efficiency: Implement company goals and strategies within policy guidelines.
- Daily Tasks:
- Follow up on regulatory compliance and deadlines.
- Manage inventory, quality control, and fieldwork at remote locations.
- Handle additional duties as assigned by management.
- Provide estimating capabilities and direction to department divisions.
- Oversee bid preparation, estimates, budgets, and schedules, maintaining an 8 to 12-week backlog.
- Direct department staff activities in line with policies and procedures.
- Plan and implement construction/repair projects effectively.
- Ensure profitability and timely execution during design and construction phases.
- Maintain communication with owners, general contractors, and engineers during contract negotiations.
- Control department operations, personnel, budgets, and policies.
Goals & Objectives
- Meet the “Scope of Works” in all project/job estimates.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in operations software.
- Communicate efficiently with customers, subcontractors, and staff.
- Assist in long and short-term planning for department objectives.
- Maintain an 8- to 12-week backlog.
Educational Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years in managing field service repairs, construction management, design/build, negotiated, and/or lump sum contracts.
- Proficiency in computer database management and Microsoft Office Suite.
Additional Requirements
- Experience in the water and wastewater collections and treatment industry is beneficial.
- A degree in a related field is beneficial.

Required Physical Activity:
· Repetitive sequences require sitting, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, finger manipulation, climbing, feeling, seeing, hearing, and speaking.
· This position is classified as light duty work - exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (constant activity or conditions that exist 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects.
· Physical demand requirements are more than those for sedentary work. Even though the weight lifted may only be a negligible amount, a job should be rated light duty when it requires walking or standing to a significant degree or when it requires sitting most of the time but entails pushing and/or pulling of arm or leg controls.
Construction / Major Repairs Department:
Ø Operational On-site Corrective Repairs of Inoperative Systems/Equip. Division:
These repairs and/or replacements include but are not limited to:
· air distribution system (header, drop legs, diffuser, air lines, valves, and fittings),
· blower packages,
· skimmer, decanter, and return lines,
· disinfection system,
· bar screens, flow splitter boxes, and weirs, Effluent V-Notch Weir,
· Lift station Pump(s) and control(s).
Ø Electrical Repairs and/or upgrades Division:
These repairs and/or replacements include but are not limited to:
· Equipment Controls and Panels,
· Manual transfer switches for generator power,
· Panel racks,
· Main power meter pans & breaker panels.
Ø Remote Monitoring Systems Division:
· Hide Tide Panels,
· Flow Measure Units.
Ø New Installations and/or Major Repairs Division:
These repairs and/or replacements include but are not limited to:
· On & Off-site lift stations and Treatment System & Equipment Refurbishments,
· New Equipment and/or Systems Installations,
· Installing Noise Barriers,
· Major Corrective Repairs to include but not limited to:
a. structural supports and bracing,
b. exterior weld and wall patching required,
c. installation of stairs as opposed to ladders,
d. walkway grating and handrails,
e. lift station lids,
f. concrete plants leak repairs,
g. piping, fittings & valves,
h. collection and force main lines,
Ø Installation, Repair and/or Upgrade PMI Division:
· Clearing & Grubbing,
· Installing culverts, access roadways & pond berms,
· Removal & Disposal of floating vegetation,
· Installing fencing & gates,
· Initial site cleanliness and installing lighting,
· Installing equipment shelters,
· Removal & Disposal of abandon equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
