Outside Sales Representative
The Outside Sales Representative is responsible for selling corporate and educational products or services through the achievement of opportunity-based client interactions. The Outside Sales Representative will reach his or her business targets through effective management of designated territories, physical visits to client sites, continuous client touchpoints, and value-added interactions with stakeholders and decision-makers. This individual will also develop ongoing, profitable relationships with clients and continually maintain a professional image of the company. Integrity, passion, and in-person communication skills are essential for this role. We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our Sales team as an Outside Sales Representative.
Responsibilities
- Conduct physical visits to customer sites/perform professional presentations or demonstrations on current portfolio, as needed, to grow designated territory.
- Emphasize product/service features and benefits.
- Penetrate targeted accounts and radiate sales from within client base.
- Overcome objections of prospective customers.
- Build and foster a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth.
- Generate and develop new customer accounts to increase revenue, by cold-calling if necessary, or in-person visits.
- Qualify and quantify opportunities.
- Pass opportunities to Inside Sales Liaison with complete information for quote generation.
- Work with Director of Sales to frame up opportunities, as needed, prior to submission to Inside Sales Liaison when required.
- Bi-weekly reporting of opportunities to Director of Sales via sales meetings and CRM data entry of existing opportunities.
- Always maintain professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and sensitivity to portray the company in a positive manner.
- Actively manage call and in-person schedule to adequately cover assigned territory in a time-efficient manner.
- Marketing assistance sometimes required as per discretion of the Director of Sales.
- Maintain accurate records; including sales call/visit information, client notes, expense reimbursement forms, and other documentation as needed.
Experience
- 3 years of direct work experience in an external sales capacity.
- Meets individual/company goals related to product portfolio.
- Quotas set by the business are achieved within the assigned territory and exceeded if possible.
- Demonstrated ability to convert prospects and close deals while maintaining established sales quotas.
- Professional demeanor; selling style and appearance.
- Experience in opportunity qualification, pre-visit planning, call control, account development, and time and territory management preferred.
- High customer satisfaction rates.
- Team player who works well with the Director of Sales and business partners in assigned territory.
- Excellent verbal and written language required for in-person client interaction and follow-up communications.
- Experience with customer relationship management (CRM) software.
- Success in qualifying opportunities involving multiple key decision makers.
- Strong knowledge of resale principles, methods, practices, and techniques.
- Strong problem identification and objection resolution skills.
- Able to build and maintain lasting relationships with clients.
- Self-motivated, with high energy and an engaging level of enthusiasm.
- Able to perform basic calculations and mathematical figures.
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team.
- High level of integrity and work ethic.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass background check.
Education & Qualifications
- BS or BA degree or equivalent
- K-12 or higher education sales, teaching and/or training experience, inside sales & or CRM software experience a plus
- Technical aptitude to demonstrate and explain new technologies to school districts.
Location
- This is a remote position. You will be required to come to headquarters from time to time.
