Pipe Fitter Supervisor Job Description
Summary of Duties
Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in fabricating, assembling, installing, and maintaining piping, fixtures, and equipment for water, fire systems, fuel, and mud piping systems.
Primary Responsibilities/Duties:
- Assigns workers to specific duties.
- Inspects work in process and completed work to ensure conformance to specifications and drawings.
- Support the Pipe fitters to determine the work sequence as well as the tools needed and resources necessary for job performance.
- Arrange the pressure testing as specified in the drawings and/or in the pressure test instructions.
- Supervises and/or coordinates activities of other assigned craft workers and with other supervisors.
- Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders as needed for area of supervision.
- Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations
- Establishes and adjusts work sequences to meet construction schedules.
- Analyzes and resolves work problems.
- Maintains time records.
- Must be able to perform all duties of a Pipefitter.
Requirements:
- Work within precise limits or standards of accuracy.
- Make decisions based on measurable criteria.
- Visualize objects in three dimensions from plans and drawings.
- Work easily and skillfully with hands.
- Completion of apprenticeship program and appropriate journeyman experience.
- Knowledge of ABS, Coast Guard and OSHA safety regulations.
- Five to ten year’s industry experience.
Physical Requirements:
- See well (either naturally or with correction).
- Ability to wear personal protection equipment such as hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, fall protection and others as required.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $23.09 - $27.81 per hour
